My throttle finger for the carving saw is getting twitchy. What am I looking forward to trying this spring? Plan to do some serious carving with a battery operated saw. Stay tuned. My log pile is ready to go.

Rough owl arrives in our backyard

In our brand new backyard we had one cedar badly leaning into the neighbours yard after all the construction in our yard. Sadly it had to come down. The tree base became a rough carved owl. In the spring I’ll sand him and make him all pretty like!

CanCarve is carving out a new location !

It’s been a long time since I have been active on CanCarve.com, however, big things have happened.

The business has moved from the Kawartha Lakes area of the province to the western side of Ontario by the beautiful Lake Huron near the Bruce Peninsula.

I’m still getting set up, but hope to be making wood creations in early 2017.

What’s my big excitement in the carving world – battery operated chainsaws with guts. They are here and fun to use.

For Sale-Five Foot Carved Bear

Just finished carving a 5 foot bear on a 2 foot stump. The wood is white pine.

The bear has not been finished, that is why I am willing to sell him as is for $450.00.

In two weeks I’ll be finishing him up much like the bears on my site (CanCarve.com). Then the price will be $650.00. So, it just depends how you like your bears. This provides a cost saving for those who are content with the bear as he stands.

It took some serious web design learning, however, CanCarve.com (aka GetAHeadCarvings.com) is now functional. Still need to ‘chip away’ at some of the rough parts of the site. Check it out – it’s all about chainsaw carving (sorry, no chainsaw juggling).
